WA Track and Asst Football Coach Len Samborowksi will be offering a Leadership Camp as part of the WA summer enrichment camp programs. All interested may obtain registration information from the WA website:(http://www.woodstockacademy.org/sports/summer.htm) Below is a description of the program provided by Coach Samborowski:

The Leadership Camp is an introductory course on motivating others to accomplish a task. It is an opportunity for boys and girls to learn about some basic characteristics of leadership (presence, empathy, the importance of effective communication, intelligence, etc.) and leadership techniques (directive, collaborative, participatory, etc.). Camp attendees will have an opportunity to practice leadership of a small group as they perform tasks. Some of these tasks are as simple as organizing a group for a tug-of-way.

Another task, as an example of increased complexity, involves the direction of an Xbox car racing game, controlling players who have access to a game controller but have their back to the TV screen. The intent is action oriented, experiential learning about the dynamics of leadership. Each camp attendee will be critiqued on their performance and offered suggestions for improvement.

Dates are 13 to 16 July - for boys and 20 to 23 July for girls. Location - Woodstock Academy field house and school area. Please also spread the word to any others who may be interested in this unique offering.
